In January 2019 I was tasked with verifying payments against one of our manufacturer’s new commission structures which paid a higher amount for new customers and returning customers with no orders for the past 3 years. Originally, I compiled a spreadsheet shipments from their monthly reports with a complex algorithm to detect new customers. Although that initially seemed to work, there were so many additional stipulations it required comparing them line by line with our proprietary order entry system. After many hours of research, conference calls and validations I found over $40,000 worth of unpaid commissions from 2018 and 2019 that have now been paid to my company.
